I celebrated my 27th (half way between 25 and 30- yikes!) birthday last Friday and Saturday! Mallory really "took the cake" (pun intended) when it came to planning and surprising me for the whole weekend. Here's the highlights....
On Friday night, we went to Joe Huber Farm & Family Restaurant for dinner. This place was amazing! If you are EVER in the Louisville area, you have to go! It's a farm, now owned by the 7th generation of Hubers, that has expanded to a restaurant, gift shop, and a barnyard with activities for kids (and adults, too!). The restaurant serves food made completely from scratch and it is oh so good! Did I mention that you should go???
We spent Saturday afternoon creating a registry for our baby boy at Babies R Us. We have since made one at Target, too. That was fun and can I say MUCH easier than the dreaded wedding registries. Those were so hard for many reasons- 1. We had no idea what we were doing (not that we are better at baby stuff, but the registry process is easier). 2. We are just registering for one person, not an entire house full of stuff. 3. We know exactly what house (and bedroom) our son will occupy, as opposed to when we got married and had no idea what our apartment in New Orleans was like.
Saturday night, Mallory took me to the Derby Dinner Playhouse. It's a restaurant and a theatre. We were treated to a nice meal, and then watched Oklahoma!, which was incredibly well done. Mallory had told the staff it was my birthday, so they brought me a mini-cake with a sparkler in it! So much fun!!!
