We bought John Mark an early birthday present from a co-worker of mine. It's a Little Tikes playset. Right now, all he enjoys is the swing, but hopefully, by next summer (or maybe even this winter) he'll love the slides and climbing area.
Yesterday, he was very fussy in the afternoon. Maybe he's cutting another tooth??? So, after unsuccessful attempts at an afternoon nap, I took him outside to the swing. Within about two minutes, he was asleep. I ran in to grab the camera and caught these photos. He is so peaceful when he's sleeping.
At his nine month check-up, he weighed 17 lbs, 6 oz. He is crawling everywhere and his feet and knees stay dirty constantly. He is pulling up on furniture and cruising a little. He loves playing with his books- I made a basket full of baby-safe books and he likes to dump them all out and "read" them.
He babbles constantly and each day brings some new sounds. The latest is a clicking noise he makes with his tongue. In Sesotho, we had clicks in our language. For example the word for Saturday was Moqobelo, which was pronounced moe-(click)-bell-oh. Maybe he will speak Sesotho one day! ;)
