Amelia's Hip and Legs

I am so happy to tell you that God has seen it fit in His mercy to give Amelia a strong and healthy hip!

We met with the pediatric orthopedic surgeon today and she confirmed that her hip was developing normally, despite my concerns. She helped me to see the difference between a hip click and a true subluxation or dislocation. Part of the symptoms were from a left tibial torsion due to the position in utero. Basically, this means that her left lower leg is bowed a little more than the right due to the way she sat in the womb. Her left leg was probably more cramped and had to work harder to grow. This gives us a false impression of limb length discrepency (LLD), but it's really just due to the torsion. This should all resolve by the time she is 4 years old, and should not cause any developmental delays.

Sorry for all the technical terms but I know some of you nurses wanted to know all the details!

Thanks for all your prayers and we are so grateful for your support!
