The Not-So-Big Move

Mallory and I were discussing last week about how we had been given so much after Katrina (a frequent topic in our home). And while we are so very thankful, it was also a very humbling and overwhelming experience. With the exception of our kitchen chairs, all of our furniture has been purchased within the last four months. As well as our clothes, kitchen stuff, etc. Everything in our home has a story--who it came from, or who gave the money to buy it. If you're ever in Lousiville, please drop by for the detailed tour.

One of the biggest blessings came from the seminary in Kentucky, which provided us with free housing from September - December. WOW! When 2005 started to near the end, we began looking for a permanent apartment. Moving wasn't actually that bad, since a) we still don't have a ton of stuff, b) it was just 6 miles away and c) we packed everything ourselves and didn't have to deal with that styrofoam or cardboard stuff.

So here we are, all settled at 7042 Aspen Grove Court (Go here to get our full new address). We live on the back side of a three-story aparment building. Our patio door opens to a large grass area and some woods. We like the serenity and isolation away from the main roads. My favorite part is the big kitchen, which overlaps into the living/dining area. Mallory says it's great because you can cook and watch TV! It is very nice, with modern amenities that make us thankful to be back in America. My top three favorites are the garbage disposal, a linen closet (not in the kitchen, but down the hall), and number one... a refrigerator with an AUTOMATIC ice maker! No more dumping ice trays!!!! ;)

Our front door. Come visit soon!
