The last and final shower was at our church, FBC Prospect. This church has been so wonderful to Mallory and I. When we moved to Louisville, Mal started working at the Starbucks in Prospect, which is a suburb on the northeast end of Louisville. Little did we know that Jon, the pastor, was a former employee of Starbucks and a seminary student (now a graduate). He invited Mal and I to their church, and the first Sunday we went, we were overwhelmed with the kindness and authenticity of the people.

You see, we had joined a church in New Orleans, Williams Blvd Baptist, just two weeks before Hurricane Katrina. We were in a state of emotional overload when we arrived in Louisville- the thought of "church hunting" was just too much. We went to one "seminary" church for a while, and even though we didn't love it, we didn't have the energy to look around. So we said we'd just wait until God led us somewhere else.... and He did.

These ladies were more than generous in their giving to our small family. It is such a humbling thing, to walk into a room and know that everyone is there to celebrate with you. To recieve gifts because people love you and rejoice with you. To have the prayer support and love of sweet sisters in Christ. We are so grateful.
